Stubben 2298 Curb Chain

The 2298 curb chain is designed for proper use with Weymouth bits, helping to stabilise the bit action by evenly distributing pressure across the horse’s chin and lower jaw. It acts as an important safety and balance element to prevent excessive leverage. The curb chain should allow approximately two fingers of space between chain and jaw when the reins are not engaged. It must only come into contact during active rein use, not at rest. Always check that it is not too loose (risk of over-rotation) and not too tight (too much pressure too early). A leather or rubber guard may be added for extra cushioning if needed.
