This double jointed bit looks similar to conventional models however it is used as a correction and training bit.  From a certain angle it locks and then operates like a straight bar.  The bit lies comfortably in the mouth when the horse is working softly.  When the horse oppposes the rider's hand the more intense blocking effect occurs.
